Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Good? Bad? Who knows?

I have been a fan of Indy since his first movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, in 1981. At that time, I acknowledge what an adventure means!

Yesterday I was excited that his latest adventure began again, and I will not miss this movie. But my teenage son was reluctant to accompany me to watch the movie in the theatre.

“It has got a bad review, Dad, and I do not want to watch it,” he says.
“But why, son? You watched all Indiana Jones series. What anything could go wrong?” I reply with astonishment.

I rarely go to the theatre in recent years. Mostly accompany my sons over hit movies that the current generation very much adores, like the Avengers saga. For me, I admire the CGI technology and stuff. In my days, watching Superman (Christopher Reeve) can fly already amaze me.

Still, I went to the theatre and watched Indy risking his life in high-speed trains, car chases, airplane fights, and sea diving. All the memories from previous movies burst through my mind.

A few days later, I searched for any poor critiques about the movies. I was surprised by tons of bad reviews about the movie. Weak in the story, never really entertaining, not perfect, just mediocre and everything in it.

Oh wow, the internet sometimes becomes a harsh place to be. But I entirely understand it. They are just doing their job. I don’t care about all the reviews out there as long as I enjoyed the movie as an entertaining aspect and for the love of the Indy character and his adventures. Different generations have got different tastes, after all. Good review? Bad review? Who knows?
